The international scientific conference “European Games — 2019: psychological, pedagogic and biomedical aspects of training athletes” started in Minsk.
“Sport and science are inalienable part of modern society. The conference will discuss the sports selection principles, athletes and coaches training, mental and physical medical support, “said Sergey Kovalchuk, Minister of Sports and Tourism.
The Minister of Education Igor Karpenko, the Chairman of the Coordination Commission of the 2nd European Games Spyros Capralos, Rector of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture Sergey Repkin, Rector of Belarusian National Technical University Sergey Kharitonchik.
The ceremony of signing the Agreement was held at the plenary session. During the ceremony Rectors of BSUPC and BNTU signed the Agreement on the joint creation on the BSUPC base the scientific and educational cluster “Intellectual technologies in sports”.
“Already this year, testing center will open at the basis of State University of Physical Culture, which will allow the use of modern wireless technologies and methods for assessing the technical and physical potential of athletes. The first year we plan to concentrate on several cyclical and game sports. In particular, we are talking about swimming, weightlifting and athletics, freestyle, acrobatics, football, volleyball and hockey,” said Sergey Repkin.
The conference was at BSUFC, where discussion platforms were held in several areas. Experts have discussed urgent problems of sports selection, the system of athletes and coaches training, modern technologies of psychological support, biomedical and biomechanical aspects of sports activities. Also, discussion platforms were covered topics of Olympic education, physical culture and health.
A separate session was devoted to the prospects of the industry of sport, tourism and hospitality. In particular, speakers talk about trends in the management and marketing of sport, considered modern technologies of the formation and promotion of the tourist product, social, economic, organizational and legal aspects of activities.
More than 200 scientists, representatives of higher education institutions, sports schools and organizations, sports federations from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Poland and the United Arab Emirates join the conference. The international scientific conference ends at April 5, 2019.
The event was organized by the Sports and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, National Olympic Committee, Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, fund “Directorate of the 2nd European Games 2019.”
