In November 2015, by joint efforts of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education and Lingnan Normal University, with the support of the Headquarters of Confucius Institutes in China, the Confucius Class of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture was founded.
Based on the results of work and prospects of development in Belarus in 2019, the Class was reorganized into the Confucius Institute. First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Viktorovich Durnov and Rector of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture Sergei Borisovich Repkin opened the nameplate of the Confucius Institute of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.
First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Viktorovich Durnov: “May there be no problems and obstacles on the way of the Belarusian-Chinese partnership, may it be permeated with mutual respect and trust, which is tirelessly supported and implemented by the heads of our states — President Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko and Chairman Xi Jinping! «
For five years of active work within the framework of the educational project, a unique model of mutually beneficial cooperation of the Confucius Institute of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture with Chinese and Belarusian partners has been created, the main educational areas have been implemented: Wushu, Tai Chi, the art of the tea ceremony, Chinese language courses are held, training centers have been opened in 5 educational institutions, more than 60 events were organized, which were attended by about 80,000 people (Cup of European Confucius Institutes in Wushu, Day of Confucius Institutions with a dragon, lion and wushu show, World Tai Chi Day in Belarus, National stage of the World Competition «Bridge of the Chinese language» and etc.).

Also, the Confucius Institute of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture received a welcome address from the Vice President and General Secretary of the China International Educational Foundation Zhao Lingshan.
