The International Scientific Congress «Values, Traditions and Innovations of Contemporary Sports» ran at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.
The forum gathered more than 500 people from 18 countries: Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, the Republic of Korea, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Japan.
The Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk, the First Vice-President of the NOC Andrei Astashevich, the Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin, as well as the rector of the Belarusian State University Sergei Repkin and his colleagues from Russia and Poland participated in the plenary session.
According to the organizers’ idea the Congress became the open ground for experience exchange, the perspectives discussion and the results of the scientific researches announcement regarding the sport development, physical education and tourism.
Scientific and business program included reports-presentations, master classes, seminars and discussion platforms.
One of the main issues of the forum was the development of sport of the highest achievements and the sports reserve preparation. The experts discussed the current problems of sport selection, the system of athletes and coaches training, medical and biological and biomechanical aspects of sports activity.
The discussion platforms also touched the themes of Olympic education, physical education and health, modern technologies in tourism and hospitality industry.
The separate session was dedicated to the management, marketing and economics in sport. In particular, the speakers talked about e-sport, sports events production, sports sponsorship, considered communication strategies, the work with sports fans and thematic mass media.
The organizers of the event were the Ministry of sport and tourism of the Republic of Belarus, National Olympic Committee, Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, Belarusian Olympic Academy, Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Sport.
