Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (BSUPC) took part in 1st student international scientific and practical online conference: “Modern sports games and combats achievements, development trends”

On May 30, 2019 in the run-up of the 2nd European Games, the 1st student international scientific and practical online conference: “Modern sports games and combats achievements, development trends” was held at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

The main goal of the conference is to motivate students for scientific research and to reveal their creative potential. Nowadays, the predisposition to scientific activities and research determines the professionalism of future expert.

The conference has become a unique online platform for experience exchange, sports games and combats trends discussing, student sports, innovations in the sphere of training high-level athletes. Invited guests supported student’s creative initiatives, and also shared their experience and knowledge as well.

The conference covered the following problematic topics: innovations in training of high-level athletes, modern achievements of sports and martial arts; trends and potential of student sports development.

This event was organized by the Sports Pedagogical Faculty for Sports Games and Combats (BSUPC), Belarusian State University (BSU), Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health, St. Petersburg, Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. The conference was held with the support of National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, RYE Beltelecom.

More than 400 students and professors from universities of Russia, Armenia and Belarus ensured the proceedings of online platform. The conference program included ten oral reports on issues of actual problems in sports disciplines of physical culture.

An ample online-coverage of this event was covered by You-Tube and mass media.

The honored guests of the conference were: Konstantin Sharovarov-Olympic champion; Nikolay Mirny-Merited Master of Sports of the USSR, main coach of the BNTU-BELAZ handball club, Honored coach of the Republic of Belarus; Maxim Mirny-Olympic champion, Merited Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus.

Along with professors, well-known experts in various sports disciplines were actively involved in work. Active participants of the debates: Petr Ivashkov — GUFKiS SDUSHOR BC «Minsk-2006», International Category referee; Igor Shishkov-Chairman Assistant of the Belarusian Federation of field hockey; Diana Tropnikov-a coach of the woman’s football team “Zvezda-BSU”; Alesya Safonov- Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus, handball club player “BNTU-BELAZ”, ex-player of women’s national handball team of the Republic of Belarus.

Moderation of online communication by scientists from three states was provided by: Elena Planida-Ph.D. in Biology, the dean of the Faculty for Sports Games and Combats (BSUPC); Inna Boyko-responsible for students research activities, research work of students at the Faculty for Sports Games and Combats, Alexey Shelekhov-Ph.D., Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health, St. Petersburg; Anna Stepanyan-Ph. D. in Psychology, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology from Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.

Forum participants were welcomed by Sergey Bakulev, Rector of Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health, St. Petersburg; Wagram Arakelyan, Rector of Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport; Sergey Repkin, Rector of Belarusian State University of Physical Culture; Vladimir Klinov, Ph. D. in economics, Vice-President of National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus; Victor Koleda, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (BSUPC).

During the conference speakers covered issues of sports influence on the emotional, social, behavioral indicators of students. The problems of student skiing promotion in the Republic of Armenia and cheerleading as an important feature of sports were highlighted. The aspects of training activities planning  for qualified judo wrestlers, the conditions for developing sense of balance among 11-12 years old sambo wrestlers, based on the usage of acrobatic exercises were also mentioned. Special attention was paid to individual psychological testing of tennis players of 8-10 years old who are participating in the ITF «Tennis 10s» program and some features of the competitive and motion activity of football teams, participating in the World Cup final games. Much interest had been generated from the biomechanical analysis of 7-meter range handball technique throw.

The most active professors-participants were: Alexey Levitsky and Alexander Simakov from Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health.

Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport was represented by: Araik Gyozalyan-head of quality assurance; Angela Nushikyan-head of international scientific center; Gagik Sargsyan-dean of the Sports Pedagogical and Management Faculty; Edgar Galtagazyan-vice-rector for sports and educational work.

In conference conclusion, participants noted, that event will let young scientists to actualize field of research, improve scientific and research skills and will promote comprehensive personality development.

Online conference provided a basis for students and starting scientists, allowing them to test the research results. Carrying out of a similar sort of actions creates necessary preconditions for mutual sports science and practice integration, creating conditions for unleashing youth potential, establishing long-term and mutually beneficial inter-university partnership.
