Alexander Lukashenko: BSUPC became the real training center for high-level specialists in sports industry

The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture during 80 years of its existence became the real training center for high-level specialists in sports industry. It is stated in the congratulation of the president of the Republic of Belarus and the president of the national Olympic Committee Alexander Lukashenko in connection with the 80th anniversary of the university, which was read by the Deputy Prime-Minister Vasiliy Zharko. During the years the leading sport university of Belarus gave a trip into the life to more than 30 thousand of specialists, who make a great contribution to the development of sport of high achievements and physical culture and to the formation of healthy lifestyle among the population.

The congratulation also says that together with its main task – the preparation of the specialists, who are able to say a new word in sport and science, the university will continue its work on upbringing of younger generation, the real patriots of their country.

The biography of the specialized educational establishment started from the small college of physical culture, where only some dozens of students were engaged. In 1937 the Belarusian College of physical culture was transformed into the institute of physical culture of BSSR. Nowadays the BSUPC is a leading and one of the largest educational establishment for specialists training in field of physical culture, sport and tourism.

The BSUPC gave the possibility to make a successful sports career for not one dozen of champions and prize-holders of Olympic Games, World and European competitions. The names of the multiple champions and prize-winners of Olympiads, World and European champions are well-known throughout the world. Among them are Romuald Klim, Mikhail Krivonos, Aleksandr Medved,  Elena Belova, Viktor Sidyak, Vitaly Scherbo, Marina Lobach, Vadim Makhnev, Ekaterina Karsten, Yanina Korolchik, Ellina Zvereva, Aleksandr and  Andrey Bogdanovich, Aleksey Grishin, Dmytriy Daschinskiy, Viktoria Azarenko, Aleksandra Herasimenya, Lubov Cherkashina and other celebrate athletes and coaches whose destinies are tightly connected with BSUPC.

Minister of Sport and Tourism Aleksandr Shamko signified that BSUPC is a real alma mater of coaches; many specialists are trained in field of sports management, physical culture and tourism. The minister also stressed that during these days there are not only the greetings of the teachers and the students of the university – but also today the scientific and practical conference “Sport reserve training system” started at the university. More than 500 professionals of sports industry not only Belarusian but also foreign specialists take part in this conference. This vast event will help the coaches to exchange the experience, learn something new from the colleagues’ practice. The topic of sports reserve training is very essential for every country. The leading sporting countries have the opportunity to choose the young athletes from the great number of willing people, who go in for sports, but such countries like Belarus work under the other principle: “not by the number, but by the capability”. That is why thanks to such concept Belarus with low human resource is in the top-20 of development level of the sport of high achievements. That is why in order to stay on the high level Belarusian specialists should continue to search properly and discover the potential of future sports stars, stressed Aleksandr Shamko.
