Chinese students honored by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus

The National Library of Belarus was held the solemn meeting of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko with Chinese, studying in Belarusian educational institutions and having significant achievements in their studies, research and public activities within the Year of education of Belarus in China framework.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Qui Qiming also took part in the event.

The Minister noted that such format of meeting provides an opportunity to discuss the prospects for training, exchange views on a wide range of issues that worry foreign students.

He also stressed, that Belarus and China are actively developing cooperation in education field, “We have managed to increase the dynamics of bilateral relations significantly, strengthen inter-university relations, to implement an amount of mutually beneficial projects”.

More than 350 direct cooperation agreements were signed between Belarusian institutions of higher education and Chinese universities. Scientific projects, joint educational programs are implemented within the framework of existing agreements, academic exchanges are provided, joint educational structures and scientific laboratories are created.

Today more than 3000 students from China study in Belarusian universities. Almost a thousand Belarusian students are involved in different education projects in China.During the meeting, Igor Karpenko presented awards to Chinese students and undergraduates, who study in Belarusian educational institutions and have high achievements in studies, research, sports and social activities.

13 representatives of BGUFK were awarded with thanks from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus: the director of the Confucius Classroom of BSUPC from Chinа Sun Peng, graduate students Tang Qiuxian, Zang Yuqi, Qiu Guangwei, You Juliang, Yu Jialiang, Bai Jie, Hu Bingyi, Ren Jie, Lei Hanjie, Chen Lang, Li Xue, Wang Liying.

The event included a concert program, prepared by Belarusian and Chinese students.

Representatives of BSUPC performed traditional Chinese lion dance.

70 Chinese students study at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, 9 cooperation agreements signed with Chinese universities, also joint educational project Confucius Classroom is implementing.
