World Bicycle Day: The opening ceremony was held at BSUPC

At the territory of BSUPC track and field athletics arena the opening ceremony of the bike ride took place. The holiday was established by the UN General Assembly in April 2018. The establishing document was signed by 56 member states, and Turkmenistan became the initiator of this international event. Therefore, this year event was participated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belarus.

Students of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education and members of the National Cycling Team of the Republic of Belarus take part in bike ride.

The ceremony started with greetings of honored guests. Among them are the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev, the rector of BSUPC Sergey Repkin, the Olympic champion in cycling Vladimir Kaminsky, as well as Director of the National Olympic Cycling Training Center Dmitry Tolkachev.

Guests of the event commented the importance of World Cycling Day, expressed their thanks to the Turkmenian representatives to the initiative they have taken. The participants congratulated everyone and started the bike ride.
